Cloak Caravan Park is set in the ideal location to explore beautiful Aberdeenshire. A mixture of dramatic scenery and a good range of attractions make Aberdeenshire an ideal port of call on any tour of Scotland. Aberdeenshire offers a wide variety of scenery from its unspoilt coast to the spectacular Grampian Mountains.

The Creel Inn Restaurant
Just a 10-minute stroll from Cloak Caravan Park, you'll find The Creel Inn restaurant, which offers stunning views of the beautiful bay of Catterline. When staying at Cloak Caravan Park, a visit to The Creel Inn is a must!
Catterline Village
A very short walk way from the park is the beautiful village of Catterline with its very own shingle bay and harbour. Excellent for walking the dog or taking a quiet stroll to take in the scenery!
An ideal location for paddle boarding and kayaking!
FACT: Famous artist Joan Eardley lived here in the 1960s painting the beautiful seascapes and landscapes surrounding Catterline Village.
Places to Eat
We are lucky enough to be close to one of the most popular seaside towns in Scotland. Stonehaven has a wide range of places to eat out ranging from small cafes, pubs for a quick drink or excellent restaurants to tick all the boxes. We also have an array of different take away establishments if you fancy some famous 'Fish & Chips', many of which deliver direct to our park!
FUN FACT: Stonehaven is original birth place of the deep fried Mars Bar!
Stonehaven
Stonehaven is a lovely harbour town only 10 minutes from Cloak Caravan Park, hosting its famous fireball ceremony every Hogmany. Stonehaven has many attractions including its beautiful working harbour, lined with excellent seafood restaurants and pubs.
Aberdeen City
Aberdeen is only a short 20 minute drive from our park. Also accessible by train from the town of Stonehaven.
Aberdeen has a vast amount of activities and sight seeing on offer, ranging from Architectural Marvels, shops and a bustling sea front with a great selection of restaurants and activities for the kids.
Montrose
Montrose lies 30 minutes South. Also accessible by train from the town of Stonehaven.
A large seaside town with lots on offer for everyone ranging from high street shops, restaurants and places of interest such as 'The Basin', a vast nature reserve and haven for wildlife and not forgetting some amazing sandy beaches!
Highland Cows
Say hello to the Highland cows which graze the fields nearby. We have several Highland Cattle which graze the fields surrounding the caravan park. Over the years they have become quite famous, regularly getting their photo taken! They have even appeared on Channel 4's Village of the Year!
Dunnottar Castle
Visit Dunnottar Castle for an unforgettable experience. A dramatic and evocative ruined cliff top fortress in a truly stunning setting. Famously it was at Dunnottar Castle that a small garrison held out against the might of Cromwell's army for eight months and saved the Scottish Crown Jewels, the 'Honours of Scotland', from destruction!
Stonehaven Heated Open Air Pool
Only 4 miles from the park you will find a heated outdoor Olympic-sized pool. Built in June 1934 the pool is still one of the main attractions during summer, bringing people from all over. Only one other pool of the era still operates in Scotland!
RSPB FowlsHeugh
For those avid bird watchers and adventurers we are lucky to have the largest mainland seabird colony on the east coast of Scotland only a 15 minute walk from the park. Many species such as Guillemots, Razorbills and Kittiwakes, along with a few Puffins and Fulmars too can be spotted here. If you're lucky, you might also spot Grey Seals and dolphins in the water!
Walks
Aberdeenshire is full of countless scenic walks in the surrounding area ranging from sandy beaches, woodlands,
castle grounds, Glens and not forgetting the Cairngorm National Park which hosts 55 Munros (Mountain over 914
metres) to tackle, the closest being Mount Keen in the beautiful Glen Esk.
We also have a small woodland adjacent to the park which can be enjoyed by all visitors and perfect for walking the
dog.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking
Catterline Bay is very popular for paddle boarding and kayaking. In the Summer months paddle boarding tours are regularly held at Catterline Bay, the absolute best way to experience the beautiful coastline!
Golf
With over 70 golf courses in the surrounding Aberdeen and Grampian area, we are located right in the centre of golfing paradise for keen golfers. To the south we have the very famous Carnoustie Golf Club, hosting 7 Open Championships this course is known to many as one of the hardest courses to play in the world! Only 30 minutes to the north, we have the highly anticipated Trump International Golf Course, which was only recently opened.
